Michter's traces its roots back to the first commercial distillery in the USA, dating all the way back to 1753. Under the guidance of Master Distiller Pamela Heilmann, they're striving to produce the highest quality whiskey in the US out of their distillery in Louisville, Kentucky. This particular one has become a favourite of enthusiasts of American whiskey. The Sour Mash refers to the process of the same name - where some previously fermented mash is used as the starter for the new mash to be fermented. Warm toasted burnt sugar notes with spice, sweet smoky fruit, candied cherries, and honeyed vanilla. Michter's says that it starts out like a bourbon and ends like a rye. Beautiful, small batch American whiskey!
