This is the second installment of our every changing pack of local love!
The world of wine in South Australia is one of our strongest assets. While times are tough it's important to make sure we preserve what makes SA special. This pack is made up of some talented, smaller producers. The time and love they put in these wines is palatable, so you would be crazy not to dig in and snap these up.
Leko, Chardonnay, 2019
This is a finely tuned chardonnay that is the brainchild of two guru winemakers, coming out of the Adelaide Hills. It's elegance & finesse shows just what this grape can be when treated with love in the cool climate.
Brash Higgins, FRNC, Cabernet Franc, 2018
Brash hails from McLaren Vale, and his wines drink like sweet poetry. This Cabernet Franc is tastes pepper, cedar, ashes, rose petals... think earthy fragrances like piles of leaves in autumn; exactly what this vineyard smells like after a summer rain. Balanced, vibrant, medium bodied, the wine has a satiny, svelte mouth feel and a long smooth finish with grip.
Brothers Koerner, Grenache, 2019
This branch of Koerner wines presents a creative outlet to experiment with wine, and this grenache is a successful example of such a venture. The grapes are bought up from Clare Valley to be created into wine up in the Adelaide Hills. Approachable for many palettes, with this particlar wine you get strawberry, mushroom, and earthiness.
