- Domaine Leon Barral is run by Didier Barral, and named after his grandfather. Didier is a thirteenth generation grape grower who decided to take this family Domaine to the next level by producing wine on a commercial level for the first time in 1993. Converting all 30 hectares to using biodynamic practices, Didier has transformed this incredible estate into one of the great estates of the entire Languedoc region, producing wines of incredible character and complexity. This cuvee is named Jadis, which means something like "long ago, in the olden days". This gorgeous blend of Carignan, Syrah and Grenache is made from wine aged in oak for 24-26 months. There's a seductive earthyness here, combined with some red fruit at first, but the trick here may be to let it open up a little or decant it. Then you may find that this enchanting beauty feels like revealing itself with dark fruit and it's complex and well balanced and deeply delicious nature.
